The abundance of distinctive gay flags and bumper stickers offers one a sense of the impact of gay rights arising out of the country’s post-1994 constitution. The South African Constitutional Court, for example, now upholds that same-sex couples in life partnerships are entitled to pension benefits and may jointly adopt children.
