From humble beginnings, before the opening of the V&A Waterfront circa 1989, this former boatyard became a household name well known throughout South Africa and indeed internationally for its live lobster, live abalone, live oysters, mussels, quality prawns, langoustines and fresh line fish. From our seawater tanks through which pass 30,000 litres of seawater an hour, you may choose your lobster or abalone. We also keep our local mussels and Namibian oysters alive in the tanks so that our guests may enjoy not only the freshest but also the livest in town. Line fish is delivered daily to Panama Jack's and through our long standing with the fishing community in the Western Cape we are assured of a large variety of fresh caught line fish. Over and above this we have prawns from India, Langoustines from Mozambique and calamari from the South Atlantic Add to this a relaxed Caribbean atmosphere of a wharf side shack in Cape Town's commercial harbour and you have the makings of a wonderful experience not to be enjoyed anywhere else in South Africa. For those who do not eat seafood we have a variety of alternatives ranging from fillet, rump and pasta dishes. Vegetarian dishes are also available. |
