Boasting unspoilt views of the palm-lined Camps Bay Beach, on Cape Town’s famous ‘beach boulevard’, this unique restaurant offers three venues in one, a spacious Sun Deck, a great dining Restaurant and a Jazz and Cabaret Club. The food is the freshest and the best with display counters brim with a vast array of the day’s produce, cocktails are prepared with the juiciest of fruits and the vibe is friendly, casual and quite infectious. You are bound to be gob-smacked to find yourself sans dinner menu. The Summerville concept grew from a desire to provide a gastronomic experience within a Fresh Fish and Meat Market. After struggling to find a market in the right position, we decided to bring the market to the restaurant. As a result Summerville was created. There are no dinner menus and guests are escorted to our fresh produce counters where your waitron will skilfully describe what is on offer (often up to 14 varieties of fish alone) This allows each diner to tailor make their own platter to individual preference, quantity and price. Meat and seafood displays boasting the day’s choices surround Summerville’s contemporary industrial-chic open-plan kitchen. Here, seafood-lovers can choose from up to 15 varieties including jumbo Langoustines, magnificent Mozambique Tiger Giants and a variety of local and imported fish while meat-eaters with a hankering for a bit of adventure will delight in Summerville’s exotic meats such as Springbok Fan Fillet, cubed and skewered onto a porcupine quill brochette, Crocodile Schnitzel, Ostrich and Beef Fillet rolled in crushed black pepper and chilli. Our goal is to ensure that all our guests leave with a truly unique Summerville experience where individuality is key. A visit to Summerville would be incomplete without trying one of the desserts, which are all freshly prepared by the talented Pastry Chef. The test of a good chef seems to be the ability to master a Crème Brulée – at Summerville this little number is an award-winner. Need we say more?
