Being a pharmacy, M-Kem’s focus is on health care and the many pharmacists, pharmacist assistants and nursing sisters form the nucleus of the Centre, supported by a Natural Health Practioner, skin care therapists and by appointment a dietician, a podiatrist, registered audiologist as well as an optometrist.
M-Kem’s nursing sisters, on duty 24 hours a day, perform a variety of functions and occupy 3 separate clinics viz a women’s health clinic, a baby clinic and a general clinic. A new innovation is a colostomy and wound care clinic. Patients are able to obtain a full fasting cholesterol analysis at the time of appointment. Diabetic patients are able to have their sugar levels graphically presented in order to maintain control of their ailment. Other tests include liver function, uric acid levels and many more. Children’s vaccinations include Chicken Pox, mumps, german measles etc.
The homeopathic/natural medicine/vitamin department is comprehensive and includes a full range of Solgar, Vital, Natrodale,NRF Holotropic, Natura, Biofora Heel, Solal, Bioharmony and others.
Besides Kanebo, Payot, Clarins and Roc M-Kem’s cosmetic department is well stocked with Vichy, Elizabeth Arden, Innoxa as well as most of the popular perfumes, French and otherwise, on the market.
M-Kem unique orthopedics/surgical department is extensive, stocking the usual nebulisers, blood pressure monitors and glucometers as well as catheters, incontinence requirements, wheel chairs, commodes and other items too numerous to mention.
Most innovative in its approach, the newest extension is a large well-stocked sports supplement section on the 1st floor next to the Green Cross Shoe Department. |
