Design for Living is Cape Town’s longest-running Expo. This well-loved event remains one of the most effective brand interaction tools available to the marketing and business fraternity, and has been an integral part of Cape Town’s events landscape for more than 25 years
South Africa's premier lifestyle and interior design show - from furniture, fabrics and floors, to lighting, leisure spaces, kitchens and bathrooms.
The theme that is being proposed for the Cape Town Festival for the next three years is “Celebrating Ubuntu”.
The term ‘ubuntu’ is best expressed by the Xhosa proverb, umuntu ngumuntu ngabantu which means I am because we are. …I am only a person through others. Ubuntu permeates every aspect of our African lives and it is expressed in our singing, dancing, story telling, respect and acceptance, sharing and compassion, effort in work, expression of grief, toyi toying, rituals, worship and celebration.
The vision for the Cape Town Festival involves marketing Cape Town as the “Gateway to African Arts and Culture”.

There to tempt you from 27 to 30 April 2008 will be an abundance of boutique and renowned cheeses from known and new cheese makers across the country, with the added bonus of authentic French cheeses specially imported for the festival.
Come and share the bounty of nature in the heart of the beautiful Boland countryside. Taste away on your favourite cheeses and enjoy the various wines, olives, freshly baked bread and other delicacies on offer. Let the experts show you how to enchant with cheese and show the kids how cows, goats and even sheep are milked.
