Getting to Cape Town or South Africa and away is as easy as it gets. There are direct flights from Europe, the US, Australia and Asia to Cape Town (and plenty via Johannesburg - which adds another 2 hour flight, plus waiting time to your journey). Public transport in South Africa is limited and not of a great standard, but Cape Town car hire or rental is affordable and easy to arrange.
