The penguins may also bite if annoyed and are best left to their own devices, which include looking really cute and flashing past you while you swim in the sheltered coves.

There are some interesting and unusual animals at Imhoff Farm, Kommetjie,  with camel and horse rides, a snake park, plus peacocks and emus wandering around the paddocks, (Kommetjie Road,  tel: 021 783 4545).
