Asu-Mas Sushi Bar and Asian Restaurant is situated in an idyllic location, the historic Hout Bay, just one of South Africa's gems that must be seen. We are a 20 minute drive from the city centre. During your scenic drive you will pass the majestic peaks of the 12 Apostles. We are at the foot of the world renowned Chapman's Peak Drive. Our terrace (seasonal) includes views of Hout Bay and The "Sentinel". Asu-Mas has been recognized as one of South Africa's top two sushi bar and restaurants in the country (Cape Review and Cosmopolitan, Femina etc). Well established in Hout Bay for 8 years, the elite know where to eat (international and local celebrities). Located on the main road of Hout Bay across the road from the beach, offer harbour views, and the freshest seafood is guaranteed. Our unique cuisine has been influenced from Hawaii, Los Angeles, New York, London, Tokyo, Osaka, Beijing, Vietnam and of course South Africa. We cater to all our diners' preferences from sushi to specialized hot cuisine. Our menu and wine lists are frequently updated according to seasons, quality, availability and trends. Asu-Mas décor has the simplicity that gives you a Japanese sensation, with a touch of European highlights, our convex 13 meter dragon is stunning with its gold and bronze set against crete stone. It will definitely get your attention, especially during the evenings, due to the sectional table floor up lighting. The sunset yellow walls, black lacquer tables, Tokyo bar stools, decorated window boxes and wooden floors give you an essence of the orient without having to take off your footwear. The sushi bar is the traditional double tier with rose wood inlays and black granite counter tops. Japanese symbols are carved throughout the sushi bar that say and wish you LOVE, LIFE and ENERGY.
