The Kopanong is a bed and breakfast, home-based restaurant, coach and train the new up B&B's and Home stays owners in the townships It provides the taste of open-heart hospitality of South Africa. It's the all in one township cultural experience. A place to relax in comfort while you experience and learn the township life in the heartbeat of Africa. We provide accommodation, delectable traditional dishes, drinks and stories of South African's checkered history.

Kopanong b&b has three bedrooms, one with en-suite that has shower and toilet, two twin beds that are convertible to king size bed. The second bedroom also has twin bed convertible as well with shower toilet next to it. The third has double bed toilet, bath and shower is in the house shared with b&b owners.

Kopanong also do township tours for our guests on request. The tours conducted by registered tourists guides. We do tours in a positive and developmental way to expose visitors to the entrepreneurial spirit developing in this densely populated township and show tourists how people have begun to take control of their lives despite the conditions they are living under.

Since its inception in 1999, Kopanong has hosted many people from all over the world including the high profile guest such as Peter Hains in January 2001. He was the Minister of State for Africa Affairs from U.K. and the British High Commissioner to S.A. Kopanong b&b is committed to job creation and poverty alleviation in this fast growing township of Khayelitsha. We are so proud to have created many job opportunities on full time and part time basis since we started. Many have been inspired by our initiative to an extent that requests comes from all over from women wanting to be assisted in starting their own businesses as well. The owner of the Kopanong b&b has responded from the requests by extended Kopanong b&b services now into coaching and mentoring other women who wants to starts their own businesses in the spirit of "Vukuzenzele".

Kopanong b&b also do cooperative marketing in order to support other b&b's and home stays that have started around. These day we accept booking of more than 20 to 50 guests just offer our African township cuisine and split them afterwards to other b&b's and home stays. Since our b&b started many people have benefited from local crafted, fruit and vegetables hawkers, the local Marimba bands etc

To expose our guests to the delectable traditional foods originating from our cultural diversity in South Africa

The team leader is a community development practitioner committed to entrepreneurship and the local economic empowerment. We are proud of job opportunities created since Kopanong's inception. As a member of the Tourism Grading Council of South Africa, I ensure that our services comply with the standards, set in rendering quality assurance service to our clients.

To ensure that standards are in place; coaching, mentoring, nurturing to the team is on continuous bases. This is the key to the success of the Kopanong bb and its other services. Learning and improving is an ongoing process at Kopanong, it never ends as we are striving to be the best.
