Dr Michael Mesham is based in Cape Town and specializes in laser eye surgery.

Our clinic uses the Nidek EC5000 excimer laser system. This an advanced scanning excimer laser which has proved worldwide to give excellent results, particularly in the correction of shortsightedness and astigmatism
To correct vision the laser gently reshapes the cornea by vaporizing microscopic layers of tissue. The laser rapidly scans the surface of the cornea removing a precise amount of tissue with each scan until the correct corneal shape has been achieved
