SHARK DIVING UNLIMITED is a family run great white shark cage diving operation with over 10 years of experience. Our crew is the most knowledgeable in the industry and will make your day one you will never forget! We cater for shark cage divers, scuba divers, photographers and film crews. We have worked with the BBC, Animal Planet, National Geographic, Discovery Channel and countless photo-journalists to create visually stunning images of great white sharks. Shark Diving Unlimited is also the company of choice for Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio, the King of Jordan and HRH Prince Harry!

GREAT WHITE SHARK CAGE DIVE:

Gansbaai, the great white shark capital of the world, is only a 2 hour drive from Cape Town. We can arrange your transfer or you can meet us at our crew house in Klenbaai harbour where we shall serve you fresh coffee and a light breakfast. The journey to Dyer Island, home to over 60,000 Cape Fur seals is about 20 minutes and is the location of the famous Shark Alley. The duration of the trip depends on the co-operation of the animals but a light lunch and soft drinks are on board! Remember these sharks are wild and cannot be guaranteed but we are so confident in our 99.9% success rate that we shall offer you a free trip, if, in the unlikely event we do not see any sharks.

Remember you do not need to be a qualified scuba diver to enter the cage and if you prefer to stay dry you will have a fantastic view of the action from the viewing deck. Our boat Barracuda is the largest boat launching from Kleinbaai harbour, she is also the most stable – something to consider if you are prone to sea sickness! She carries all the required safety equipment and complies with SAMSA and MCM regulations.

PADI GREAT WHITE SHARK SPECIALTY COURSE:

This 3 day course is only for PADI qualified divers and combines great white shark cage dives, seal diving and evening lectures. During the course you will be taught all about great white shark biology, ecology, behaviour and conservation by shark behaviour specialist Michael Rutzen. Mike is one of the few people in the world who has free dived with these magnificent animals outside the safety of a cage and he will share his unique knowledge of the oceans top predator with you. Although you will never leave the safety cage you will have an intimate view of the great white shark from Mike's breath taking video footage. And at the end of the course you will be a certified PADI Great White Shark specialist capable of impressing the most devoted shark enthusiast.

SHARK DIVING UNLIMITED strives to dispel the myths created by films such as JAWS and instead promotes education about the oceans most misunderstood apex predator. The Great White shark is listed as ‘vulnerable' to extinction and we believe the key to the conservation of this species is through eco-tourism and scientific research. Shark Diving Unlimited is proud to be involved in South Africa's Marine and Coastal Management's Great White Shark acoustic tagging research project.
