Owner of both Sunset Beach and Tuscany Beach restaurants on Camps Bay's beach front, Nigel Newhouse, has amalgamated restaurant concepts, menus and floor-space of both restaurants, thrown in a top-class sushi bar and created ‘…the hottest spot in Cape Town.' The newly re-launched and redecorated Tuscany Beach offers style and cuisine to suit just about everyone. Its split–level flooring allows for surreptitious changes in ambience that caters perfectly for Tuscany's chameleon-like temperament. Executive chef Andrew Mendes who joined Tuscany Beach in February has added many exciting new dishes to the menu with the accent on style and presentation, which fuses the best in Italian and Asian cuisine and provides dishes to suit every taste and preference. From early morning until the wee hours of the following, Tuscany Beach offers optimal ambience and cuisine, with one period of the day merging effortlessly into the next. Breakfast, which has already become an institution amongst locals, flows into lunch, lunch into afternoon tea, afternoon tea into sundowners and cocktail hour, cocktail hour into early suppers, early suppers into fine dining, and fine dining into chilled-out after dinner drinks. For the trendy, hip and happening, a cocktail bar which offers 140 cocktails to choose from, complete with spirit-flaring barmen beckons from the beach, while an upbeat evening spent at the sushi bar with Johnny, Cape Town's popular Asian sushi-maestro, complemented with the pink hues of sunset over the Atlantic, provides the idyllic ending to every evening. For romantics and fine-diners, a raised level equipped with fully dressed tables, soothing music and Asian-styled conservatory with koi pond offers a uniquely intimate ambience. Folding sliding doors open up the entire front of the restaurant drawing the surrounding environment inwards and highlighting the central sushi bar and adjacent cocktail bar.
